I LOVE to bake. I also love to cook, but baking has always been my passion. Since attending nutrition school, I’ve enjoyed putting my own spin on treats to try and make them a little more nutrient-dense rather than always full of refined sugars, inflammatory oils, and gluten (my husband has Celiac Disease and I have Hashimoto’s, which is why we stay away from gluten). My go to substitutes for refined sugar are honey, maple syrup, coconut, and fresh fruit. For flour, I generally use almond, coconut and oat flours. As for the oil, coconut and avocado are my favorite for baking.
I truly believe that our health depends greatly on what we eat, how we move, and how we think, and it’s essential to fuel our bodies with REAL food as much as possible!

My love for baking I believe came from my grandmother. She always had lots of delicious baked goods for us whenever we visited. Holidays were always my favourite. Before she passed, I was able to sit with her and go through all her recipes. A moment I will cherish forever. And I hit the jackpot, lol, finding some of my all-time favourites from when I was a kid, plus a few more she recommended to me. My grandmother was an incredible lady, still baking yummy treats for the family at 97. Hopefully, I will be doing the same in my 90’s. I’m currently working on a cookbook which I plan on dedicating to her.
