I’ve really been trying to find recipes that are made with the least processed ingredients but are still really tasty.
Processed foods are pretty hard to avoid, and I’m not saying you need to ditch them altogether. But I do always encourage people to read the ingredients when buying packaged foods. I usually read an ingredient list before I look at the nutrition label. It can tell us so much more about what is in our food. Basically, the smaller the list and the more ingredients you can pronounce, the better. Another good tip when reading an ingredients list is checking to see if the ingredients would be something you find in your own pantry. Aspartame and artificial sweeteners, artificial colours and flavours, and MSG aren’t things we just have lying around unless you have a secret lab in your basement, lol.
If label reading isn’t part of your current grocery routine, there is always time to start. It can be a game-changer when it comes to feeling your best 🙂
These Chocolate Pecan Collagen Balls are so yummy and full of the best ingredients. If you’re looking for a tasty little pre-workout snack or an after-dinner treat, these are a great option. Sure to satisfy that sweet tooth 😉

- 14 Medjool Dates
- 1/4 cup Nut Butter I used almond
- 3 scoops Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
- 1/4 cup Cacao Powder
- 1/4 cup Chocolate Chips optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250 and toast pecans for 5 minutes. Add coconut flakes to the pan and toast until golden brown.
- Add toasted pecans and coconut to a food processor and mix until crumbly.
- Add in remaining ingredients except for the chocolate chips and mix until combined. You don't need to overmix. You should be able to form into a ball when done. If it's not sticky enough, you can add more almond butter or dates.
- Roll into balls and enjoy 🙂
